Thomas “Coby” Knox

Mr. Knox is President,  Co-founded Cobisa Corporation in 1987. He was responsible for establishing a joint venture between Cobisa and Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi International Corporation which led to the creation of Diamond Energy, Inc. and the development of the Doswell Independent Power Project and Mitsubishi’s participation in the Tenaska – Paris Texas Project. His contribution to the Doswell Project included; identification of the opportunity for the project, development of the strategy to complete the project as one of the first independent power producers, development of the gas fuel supply plan which was the first in the country to rely on 100% spot gas and renegotiation of the Power Purchase Agreements with Virginia Power Company.

From 1983 to 1987 he was employed by the Crispin Company, an international trading company and major importer of steel products, primarily oil field pipe, oil and gas transmission line pipe and wire products. As Secretary, Treasurer and a Director he was responsible for Corporate Accounting, Data Processing, Finance and Legal Affairs. 

Prior to joining Crispin, he was employed with the accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand for approximately six years in Dallas and Houston, Texas. His experience was concentrated in the firm’s Banking and Public Utility practice.  Additionally, he was responsible for analytical litigation support leading to settlements in excess of $1billion on major energy construction projects.

Thomas C. Knox is a Certified Public Accountant, member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from the University of Texas and a Masters in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University. 

Mr. Knox devotes substantial time to charitable activities.
